The Lenovo IdeaTab S2109 has revealed its first look to potential users via an official video on YouTube. Though its specifications have been outlined in the video, the company has not clued in audiences on the availability of the slate.
The tablet in question sports a 9.7-inch screen fitted across a smooth, uniform design. Its exterior is graced by a gun metal finish in a profile trimmed down to 8.9mm. Its battery life is cited to go on for a span of 10 hours, as mentioned in the video. Moreover, the display on offer is of the IPS type in order to make for a wider viewing angle.
The offering also packs in quad speakers that are touted to deliver improved bass along with SRS Trumedia compatibility for a complete mobile entertainment encounter. For video conferencing purposes, there’s a 1.3MP snapper embedded on the front panel. Phandroidwhich stumbled upon the video via Notebook Italia, reports that the tablet was first seen in an FCC filing.

Apart from the aforementioned attributes, the slate entails slots for microSD along with micro-USB and micro-HDMI too. MacBook Pro goes slim with quad-core this Spring


This summer we’re very likely going to see MacBook Air slimness on Apple’s line of heavier-duty MacBook Pro units, complete with Intel’s Ivy Bridge quad-core processors in-tact. This news comes with the following part names attached inside the Core i7 family: desktop Core i7, Core i5-3570K, i5-3570T, i5-3550, i5-3550S, i5-3450 and i5-3450S. These systems on chips will be available in late April or early May and will find their way into devices such as MacBook Pros thereafter. New iMac machines have also been tipped for this timeframe, but no additional details are known on specifications of any kind.
We can expect that the MacBook Pro refresh will be delivered (if all goes according to the standard non-official plan of things), this spring right around the same time as the processors themselves are prepared for business with the rest of the computing world. This refresh will be the first in which Apple gets rid of the optical disk drive altogether, favoring instead digital data delivered via USB drive and their own Thunderbolt port.
Get pumped up about the thinness, because these units are more than likely going to be essentially Ivy Bridge-toting MacBook Airs with much better graphics, hard drives, and processing power. Can’t wait!

HTC in pact with Airtel to launch new HTC One Series of Smartphones in India

Telecom Lead India: Smartphone maker HTC has introduced new HTC One series of smartphones for the Indian market. The company has tied up with mobile major Bharti Airtel to introduce limited period offers on every purchase of HTC One X and HTC One V. 

Airtel mobile customers purchasing these all new devices till June 30, 2012 will be able to enjoy free download of 100 full songs, 500 MB data for three months and 200 minutes of mobile TV.

"One of the key objectives for the HTC One series, was to enable the user to remember their best moments in life easily, whether it be capturing a photo or listening to a song, so it was crucial for us to improve these emotional experiences with an amazing camera and authentic sound experience," said Faisal Siddiqui, country manager of HTC India.

The HTC One series runs on Android 4.0 (ICS) with HTC Sense 4, a new suite of camera and imaging features. HTC Sense 4 also includes broad enhancements to audio quality and simplifies how people listen to music on their phone.

The HTC One X is powered with a new Nvidia Tegra 3 Mobile Processor for clear graphics, faster applications and longer battery life. It includes a 1.5 GHz Super 4-PLUS-1 quad-core with an integrated fifth Battery Saver Core and a high-performance 12-Core Nvidia GPU. The HTC One also has a 4.7-inch, 720p HD screen crafted from contoured Corning Gorilla Glass.

The HTC One X handset is available in Polar White and Glamour Grey, while the HTC One V comes in the color of Jupiter Rock. The HTC One X and HTC One V will be available at an MRP of Rs. 42,999/- and Rs. 19,999/-respectively, while the MOP (Best Buy) will be Rs. 37,899/- and Rs. 18,299/-.

Recently, HTC reported unaudited consolidated revenue of NT$67.79 billion ($2.3 billion) for the first quarter of 2012, a drop of 34.92 percent from a year earlier. 

From January to February, the company reported consolidated revenue of NT$36.91 billion, a year-on-year drop of 45 percent, while its revenue in March managed to post 52.19 percent growth from the previous month to meet its former forecast.

Bharti Airtel is set to roll out broadband wireless access (BWA) services based on 4G technology in Kolkata on Tuesday.
Union Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal is expected to arrive here to launch the services. “We have requested Mr. Sibal to launch the services,” a senior executive of Bharti Airtel said.
With this launch, Bharti Airtel would become the first to launch this high-speed service. Airtel sources said that this would entail speed of 100 megabits per second when a subscriber is on the move and a far higher speed when at a fixed location.
The company, which had according to its website, a subscriber base of 22 million at the end of January 2012, had won the auctions for three other circles but Kolkata’s preparedness had made this launch possible, a company official said.
Bharti Airtel said that it has selected ZTE Corporation, a listed global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions to plan, design, supply and deploy its 4G network in Kolkata.

Maruti Ertiga to be launched on April 12


Maruti's first multi purpose vehicle, the Ertiga will be launched on April 12. The Ertiga, which is based on the Swift platform, will be up against the Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo.
The car looks similar to the Ritz and Swift - more of an extended wheelbase variant of both. The interiors feature three rows of seating with dual tone upholstery with the steering wheel having audio controls on it. The middle and third row of passengers have air vents embedded in the roof liner above the front row. With a turning radius of 5.2m and being lesser in length and width than its competitors, the Ertiga has nimble dynamics.
Maruti is offering two engine options in the Ertiga. A new 1.4-litre K-series petrol engine which produces 95PS and a 1.3-litre DDiS engine which makes 90PS. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual box. Maruti claims a fuel efficiency of 16.02kmpl for the petrol and an incredible 20.77kmpl for the diesel powered Ertiga. We expect Maruti to price the Ertiga between Rs 7-9 lakh.

Apple's next venture will be into the TV market, with Japanese firm Sharp set to produce the screens that will support both voice and gesture recognition controls - and it appears set to launch next year.
While it hasn't been confirmed by Apple, speculation surrounding iTV is growing among analysts and rival firms, who are looking to find out what the rumoured TV can do, reports The Guardian.

1.The buzz is that iTV will do for TV what the iPhone did for mobile phones, bringing applications and 'smart' capabilities into the mainstream.
2.Media centres and HTPCs have allowed for internet connectivity, social networking and the like via the TV for a few years now, but these technologies are still somewhat restricted to the technologically savvy. The idea behind the smart TV, or the iTV as Apple is apparently calling its device, is to bundle television programming with improved interaction and social media in one package.
With Apple fans around the world still mourning the loss of Steve Jobs, revelations in an authorised biography reveal that the Apple co-founder appeares to have been a real driving force behind the development of iTV.
He is quoted as saying: "I'd like to create an integrated television set that is completely easy to use. It would be seamlessly synced with all of your devices and with iCloud. It will have the simplest user interface you could imagine. I finally cracked it."
3.Part of making the iTV "easy to use" is expected to involve including gesture and voice controls in the platform. The latter is something that's already somewhat available on the iPhone in the form of Siri, a voice-controlled personal assistant app. The former is hinted at in the recent filing of an Apple patent that uses "real-time video process control using gestures", a technology similar to the one used in Microsoft's Xbox 360 Kinect peripheral.
Not everyone believes that a television like this would be a must-have upgrade from current sets, though. Benedict Evans, a technology researcher at industry analyst firm Enders Analysis, observed that knowing that their movements could control the TV, users might end up unable to move when an important part of their show was on, in case they accidentally changed channel.

Will.i.am has joined forces withMick Jagger for the first single from his upcoming album.
The Black Eyed Peas singer revealed that he originally asked the British rock legend to collaborate with him on the track "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)" because he didn't expect Jagger to accept his request, telling Rolling Stone: "You play your music and the first thing someone says, 'Who's gonna be on it?' So I think of the hardest thing ever. And it happened. Mick Jagger."
He added "I just wanted to throw something out there that I thought could never be possible so they would stop asking me." Will.i.am performed the new track (off his second solo album, #willpower, which will be released in early 2012) at Sunday night's American Music Awards, where he was joined onstage by Jennifer Lopez. The video for the track — which drops later this month — was directed by Rich Lee and shot in London and Los Angeles.
